Assess the connected space
Bi-fold doors, roof lanterns and open-plan layouts can produce significant solar gain. If the extension opens into an existing kitchen or living room, the full connected volume and heat sources need consideration.
Cooking appliances, occupancy and the direction of the glazing can affect demand. Zoning or more than one indoor unit may be appropriate where the space is large or divided into distinct areas.
Plan early where possible
If construction is still underway, pipework, drainage and electrical provision may be coordinated before finishes are complete. Early planning can reduce visible containment and avoid reopening new decoration.
Equipment should still be selected against the finished insulation, glazing specification and intended use. Provisional routes should be checked when the final room layout is known.
Position equipment for real furniture layouts
Indoor units should distribute air through the occupied space without conflicting with kitchen cabinetry, curtains, lighting or tall furniture. Outdoor equipment needs suitable airflow, sound control and future access.
The final quotation should explain what work is coordinated with the builder or electrician and what Top Local will complete directly.
